This is an update to give you infomation so that you can understand what we are doing and to help you monitor your own child's health.
We are following advice from Primary Care Trusts, the Health Protection Agency and the Local Authorities.
The advice is clear, that everyone who is well and free from symptoms should go about life as normal.
ABC Funweeks, will continue with enhanced monitoring of influenza like illness in the school/course setting. Anyone thought to be unwell will be isolated and parents will be contacted to take their child home immediately.
Advice for people with Swine Flu
This is a new form of influenza (flu). Flu generally last from three to five days and it may take a further few days before you're feeling back to normal. The most significant symptoms are the sudden onset of fever and a cough. Other symptoms include tiredness, sore throat, runny nose, limb/joint pain and headache.
What can i do to protect others?
The most effective way to protect others is to stay at home untill you are well and follow good hygiene practices. Also use a clean tissue to cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze. You must bin the tissues after you have used them. Always wash your hands with soap and warm water after.
